Adult Golf Programs

Barrie Bruce Golf Schools has many golf instructional programs to accommodate all abilities.

• New-to-the-game golfers
• Novice golfers looking to progress to the next level
• Advanced golfers who want to fine-tune their game

We offer structured programs in our Introduction to Golf, Introduction to the Golf Course and Intermediate programs, or, if you want more individualized instruction, check out our Private and Semi-private lessons.

Introduction to Golf

• Designed for the new-to-the-game golfer with little or no golfing experience.
• Basic fundamentals of the game are taught in a relaxed, stress-free clinic setting.
• Intro to Golf consists of five (5) one-hour lessons, spaced a week apart so you can practice in between.
• Equipment is provided as needed.

All you need to bring with you is “a pair of sneakers and a good attitude”. If you have to miss a class, please give us 24-hour notice. There will be opportunities to make up a missed class.

You can repeat this program any time you need a refresher, or call Barrie if you want to schedule a private lesson!

Introduction to Golf

Intro to Golf is perfect for the new-to-the-game golfer with no (or very little) golf experience. The basics of golf are taught in our stress-free clinic setting.

Each program is five (5) one-hour lessons, spaced one week apart to allow for practice in between. Equipment/practice balls provided as needed.

Introduction to Playing on the Golf Course

OK, you have learned the basics in our Intro to Golf Program- NOW WHAT?

You may be hesitant to get out on the ‘real course' …… let us help you take your game beyond the practice range.

This 4-session program will build your confidence through a bit of course play experience, including:

• Section 1: Basic Orientation
• Sessions 2-4: On the course, up to 3 holes with your instructor.
  • Basic rules, course etiquette, the ever-important pace-of-play techniques, shot set up and club selection and more as time allows

After this program, you will be ready to join our low-key BBGS Sunday Scrambles, and to play on the course with family and friends.

INTERMEDIATE Program

For those with some course experience but need a tune-up!

OK, so you hit good shots on the range, but can’t always do the same on the course.....let us help you move past that!

Our 1-hour Intermediate golf classes focus on specific skills to help you manage your game and lower your scores. We will cover drills to make every practice session effective and will discuss specific ‘trouble shots’.

This includes:

• How to improve your iron shots
• Help with correcting your slice/hook
• How does 'touch' relate to the short game
• How to work on a simple and effective chipping method
• Skills to avoid 3-putting
