Junior
Golf
The Barrie Bruce Golf Schools and the Country Club of Billerica
have avidly supported junior golf for over twenty-five years. Our
philosophy is to provide a nurturing and safe environment in which
children can become acquainted with golf as a recreational sport.
These programs feature individual and/or small group settings in
which students may learn and practice their golfing skills while
developing the positive attitudes necessary to the enjoyment of
golf. Our goal is to encourage safety, etiquette, and good sportsmanship.
Junior Clinics
- This, our most popular program, is for juniors ages 6-15. It is
a series of five one-and-a-half hour lessons dealing with safety,
the address position, the swing, irons, woods, the short game, and
golf etiquette. These classes are for beginners as well as those
who are in the process of developing better golf skills.
Advanced
Junior Clinic - This series of five one-and-a-half
hour lessons is for the junior who has acquired a sufficient level
of readiness in the fundamental skills. Your child's instructor
can advise as to his/her level of achievement.
Junior "OTC"
(On-the-course) - This series of four two-hour
lessons is for the junior who has the skills and maturity to be
a responsible person on the golf course. Candidates for this course
must be approved by Barrie, Bill Dineen, or one of the instructors.
These playing lessons on the course include safety, rules, etiquette,
club selection, and playing procedures.
